2004 Cole Camp Fair
SEPTEMBER 9,10 & 11, 2004

A Timeless Tradition

These are pictures of some of the other things at the fair, but what really didn't fit into any of the other categories. This consists of the rides, entertainmant and the hair cut for the cancer benefit. This is the 6th year where someone in the community had their hair cut to help raise funds for cancer victims in the community. It is the first year for a woman to undergo this haircut, and was Suzanne Balke. The hair cut is performed on the grandstand after the final parade of the fair, and the person getting the hair cut has their reasons. It usually is due to a family member that has or has had cancer, and wishes to help other victims. Suzanne's hair was to go to "Locks of Love" to make hairpieces for financially disadvantaged children in need of them. Suzanne's goal for the fund raising was to get an amount equal to $1.00 from each county resident, or $18,076. That amount was not raised, but every dollar raised stays in the county to help people with cancer without a lot of red tape.
