The 2004 Oktoberfest celebration in Cole Camp was the 4th one held. This year's event was all day, full of fun and activity. The day started with a breakfast at the Cole Camp Senior Center, fixed and served by some of the area seniors. That was followed with the 2nd "Le Grand Tour de Clabbertown" bicycle race. There were bicycles of all styles and ages with riders of various ages that entered and completed the mapped out "race" to the downtown area. That was followed with a day of Oktoberfest activities, a fashion show with the bicycles and their owners dressed in the style of the day for the time frame of their bicycle. Several awards were presented for the race and fashion show. The bicycles then were on show all day with many more bicycles and collectibles, and a Gun Show. At noon, the Oktoberfestbaum was raised by the German Men's Choir members, followed with a toast to good health and good times. The Oktoberfest included displays of many crafts, several displays of various collections, authors signing copies of their books, and exhibits of "years long gone" methods of daily chores, such as baking on a wood cook stove, grinding corn in a grist mill, making kettle corn and churning butter by hand. A couple of unique displays were a hand built wooden wood lathe, in operation turning a spindle. Additionally, there was an extensive Indian artifact display and an extensive fishing gear display - both of old and unique items. There was German food and drinks, German music by the local Low German Choir and others. The day ended with a performance by local players completely performed in Low German.
