Plattdütsches Theoter
(Low German Theatre)

Performed entirely in Low German by local residents.
Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13, 2002

Sponsored by the Plattdütscher Vereen von Cole Camp
(Inquiries: Rt 2, Box 259, Cole Camp, MO 65325)

The pictures that are on these pages are of the 13th unique production of the Plattdütsches Theoter.  The purpose is to promote the Low German language and the local German heritage.

Cole Camp, Missouri, the origin of a contemporary Low German Theater, presents this production performed entirely in Low German by local residents.

It is a privilege to present our Low German Theater to you. To present our beautiful language in the form of a Low German Theater is a unique experience both for us and for you, our loyal patrons. To keep this language alive is indeed a challenge and we hope our theater is a vehicle for this. Our dream is to pass this custom of language, heritage and music to our youth, hoping they will come to realize how important it is.

Our theater this year is dedicated to our performers - whether they perform in front or behind the curtain or serve on the many committees that are necessary to make the theater a success. Without our loyal people, not only in our club, but also in the community, this production could not be accomplished. To you our beautiful people, we salute you!
