The Cole Camp Maifest is an annual event that was first held in 2003, and is planned to be an annual event around the first of May. It is a city wide celebration where the shops in town have special sales, the resturants have special fares, and many spring oriented activities are held during the day long event. The first year started with a breakfast and ended with listening to the blues music in the local winery. In between, there is an event performed by the kids, that all enjoy to watch - that of the winding of the May Pole. There are several different designs that result from winding streamers on a pole while special music is being played. Quite an event to watch. There also is German food available during the day, and a variety of games for the kids and crafts, art, and shopping for the adults. The 2009 Maifest will be held in Cole Camp on May 9, 2009. The activities begin with a parade on Maple Street beginning at 12 noon. In addition to the multi unit parade, activities will include a vintage fashion show in the Jaycee Gardens, a hat contest in the gardens, a dog show on South Maple, Cole Camp High School Bank will play before and immediately after the parade, and raising of the festival tree.
